Growing up as a preacher’s daughter, hymns were embedded deeply in my soul from as long as I can recall.
Music reflects my heart. Along with God’s word, the hymns are a landmark and legacy of my faith. The words and melodies are tied to my earliest memories of sitting in the church pews listening to my dad preach. I can still hear his powerful voice leading the hymns and the rich soprano beauty of my mothers voice sitting beside me, so of course I had to find another part. I hold to the heritage God gave me, not only of faith but of music. The hymns connect the generations, teach us Biblical truths and deepen our walk with the Lord. There is a deep sense of comfort and peace in singing the songs that have been sung by generations before us. He has given me a song from the time I could talk, the notes flowed forth.
